Theres a few different elements that went into making the name, and the design for Fostering Fortitude.

  1. Coming up with the Image.

Sumflowers are associated with a symbol of growth and resilience. Sunflowers are known for their ability to grow tall and strong, even in adverse conditions. They can withstand harsh weather, poor soil, and limited resources, making them a powerful symbol of perseverance. Taking it one step further, this symbolism is often used to motivate and inspire individuals to overcome challenges and grow in the face of adversity. Sunflowers are the symbol that reminds us that no matter how tough the circumstances may be, we have the inner strength to rise above and thrive. Sunflowers encourage us to embrace change, adapt to new situations, and continue to grow and evolve.

  2. Coming up with the Name.

As you’ve probably already put together ‘Fostering’ is a play on my last name. However It comes with an additional meaning. According to the definition it means, “to promote the growth or development of, encourage”. How true that is when it comes to the therapeutic relationship.

Fortitude, although some may choose to interchange the word resilience, means “strength of mind that enables a person to encounter danger or bear pain or adversity with courage”. In the therapeutic setting, fortitude often manifests as the inner strength and courage that individuals draw upon to confront and overcome.

At Fostering Fortitude the name is not just a label; it's a representation of values, aspirations, and purpose I bring to life in every interaction.
